This is the first single off the forthcoming vinyl LP by T. Nguyen from Brooklyn, New York. We are teaming up with Diggers Factory in France to make a limited run of 200 pressings of the LP to be shipped this summer. To help support the LP, we are digitally releasing this single with two additional tracks, in March 2022 - (3/25/22).

A first generation immigrant of Vietnamese refugee parents, T. Nguyen sounds consist of driving drums, vintage tape noise, rounded piano tones, and analog static. His sonic vignettes are portraits of past stories of late night New York parties, morning afters, and realizations digested through the subtleties of perception and sound vibrations.

T. Nguyen’s palette and analog process through Tascam boards, Roland delays, and a Teac reel to reel tape machine removes the music out of the digital space into a tangible physical reality. His music captures to confront the listener with their own process of being, through low-end frequencies, found samples, and swung dance loops.

The single eases in with soft pads and a firm kick drum on the opening title, The Kissing Song. The track’s contracting soft synths float in and out of view of the ear, dropping us on the dance floor, amongst souls, touching one another through earthly connections.

Roland Carter’s Synth Remix opens with string, stabby synths followed by a four to the floor kick. The song then introduces the 303 bass allowing the synths to drive the song around the delayed rim shots. Roland Carter offers a different bassline arrangement which releases tension with a rounded digital woodwind melody in the later half of the song. The song was originally taken from a longer mix done on an analog mixing desk.

The Short & Sweet edit, snap shots the best parts of the night, compressing The Kissing Song to under five minutes for friendly airplay.
