Title: House is a Feeling
Produced, Mixed, Engineered and Mastered by Roland Carter
Special Thanks to 21st century night culture.
Released on January 31, 2020
Analog static and vintage tape noise is introduced through Roland’s Teac x10r on all his music. The EQ’s are soft while digital reverbs of church-like orchestral harmonies swim throughout his compositions. The round tones, bring air-ey voices and longing melodies over driving drum samples is a reminiscence of classic club tracks of New York’s night culture of the late 20th Century. Roland’s experiments with analog mixing on Tascam’s Model 24 mixer while he integrates new tactile devices like Roland’s TB-03, MC-707, and Ableton 10 melds rare analog and digital samples from around the world to continue a generation of New York Garage, House and Techno music.
New York-based producer Roland Carter debut’s, House is a Feeling on January 31 on all major streaming services. The release pays homage to analog and tape and celebrates New York City night culture. The track encompasses club classic Lil Louis’s French Kiss meter and DJ Pierre’s 303 acid sound with rolling basslines and lively drums that reference early New York Garage music. Carter has worked on past releases with GGL and girlsgetlow of Brooklyn base indie label outofprint recordings.
Expect an upcoming video to accompany House is a Feeling with a second release at the end of February available on all major online retailers and streaming platforms January 31, 2020.
Great raw heady atmosphere and minimal feel. Bit too much of a throwback dance floor feel for the site.
