Special thanks to: The summer of ‘88 and ‘89 that inspired this record and dedicated to those affected by Covid-19.

Outofprint’s 7th release entitled “Lemon Haze” by New York-based producer Roland Carter will be available on March 27 to all major streaming services with an exclusive DJ release on 3/24 on Traxsource. The summer-feeling tune casts the “commercially failing” TB-303 as the forefront character, supported by shuffling hi-hats and chiming organs. It sets the mood for a daytime trip in a remote outdoor secret destination.

Originally a 17-minute long recording, the track journeys through a pulsating acid frequency constantly riding the crest of UK’s early rave scene of 1988 and ‘89, later dubbed “Second Summer of Love.” Psychedelic delays through an ‘86 SDE-1000 blanket the track with spacial sound effects atop a low billowing bassline. The song additionally commemorates dub mixing techniques from the late 60’s to manipulate audio loops and samples from a 909 drum machine. The interchanging of instruments on distinctive analog faders grants elasticity to a relax dance groove.
